  • Redundancy with Mail Store?

Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to provide data redundancy with exchange 2003?

I understand it can be done using clustering service.

We have muliple branch offices and would like to be able to switch over to another mail server if the primary mail server goes down.

Is it possible to do it by other means e.g like replication as in SQL servers.

You will need to use third party product ot use disaster recovery methood of Exchange 2000.

      Thanks for response Yuval.

I am looking for a realtime backup solution. One server fails transfer users to next
server. Replicate data between the two mail stores.

      Any ideas???

      regards

      Ash.

Ash, you're talking about expensive software solutions.
I am being employed in a company dealing with such software solution, and we know our product runs flawlessly on an Exchange stores, both in a clustered and non-clustered environment.

If you're ok with utilizing a clustered solution, you might save some, and yet get most of your demands. In such case, if an Exchange server is down, its store is transfered automatically to another Exchange server, allowing continuus work. If you're actually talking about two replicant stores, you'll need something else, such as what my company does.
