  • Numbers in Hebrew Message

We had a case where a user sent some numbers in the body of her e-mail and they arrived in reverse order at the customers mailbox. The message was written in Hebrew using HTML format. Viewing the message in the user's Sent Items of course showed the numbers in the proper order.

Is there any way to prevent this using some global configuration? The MIME and non-MIME character sets in the Message Format tab of the Internet Message Formats under the Exchange server's Global Settings are both set to "Hebrew (Windows 1255)".

    Thanks,

    Carey

    Is the user using Word?

If you mean as the e-mail editor, then let's assume they are. What are the ramifications of using or not using Word as the e-mail editor in this situation?

      Thanks,

Well, in that case the version of Word (if not 2003) might change the layout of the numbers, i.e. display 050-32323232 as 32323232-050.

        Is that the case?

The case wasn't about phone numbers (known issue) rather an actual number.

E.g., the message contained the number 786 and was sent both internally to other Outlook/Exchange users and externally. Internally the text was correct and the number displayed as it should but the external user received it as 687 even though the Hebrew text was correct. The external user also uses Outlook/Exchange.
