OWA stopped working...

  • OWA stopped working...

    One of our clients noticed they no longer receive emails on their data phones, no error on the phone, it just stopped early this morning.

    I tried OWA and that's inaccessible as well. Being new to Exchange support I'm unsure as to what to look at to resolve this.

    Server is SBS 2003 running Exchange 6.5 w/ SP2

    Do you see an error message for OWA?
    Is outlook running ok?
    Anything in the server event logs
    Have you restarted if possible?
    Can you see anything in IIS manager that looks down/odd?
    Is the internet working in the office where the server is?

      Do you see an error message for OWA? - Nothing, it just doesn't load.
      Is outlook running ok? - Yes, no issues.
      Anything in the server event logs - Nothing that appears to point to this issue.
      Have you restarted if possible? - Yes, same issue.
      Can you see anything in IIS manager that looks down/odd? - I honestly wouldn't know.
      Is the internet working in the office where the server is? - Yes.


      **Update, I called him this morning and the first thing out of his mouth was -Thanks! it's working again.

      I tried OWA and it was up as well externally (it was only working internally which made me think firewall but there were no issues/changes to the infrastructure to cause this or the resolution.

        This bit is helpful in troubleshooting. If it worked internally then it would very likely have been an issue outside of the server. Glad it is up now though.
