  • Disaster rocovery mode and system attendant

    Setup:

    Exchange 2003
Windows 2003 Srv - DC, DNS, DHCP and GC's

    Problems:

We have some high availability software being installed that when our mail server goes down the high availability software kicks in on another mail server and assumes the identity of the original mail server and continues to serve clients.

Exchange 2003 needs to be installed in Disaster Recovery Mode on the backup mail server. This has been installed but when the system attendant tries to start up it fails with the following error's:

    Error 1
Microsoft Exchange System Attendant failed to start Exchange server 'SERVERNAME'. Error code '0x8000500d'.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

    Error 2
Unexpected error The property cannot be found in the cache. ID no: 8000500d Microsoft Exchange System Attendant occurred.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

    Error 3
Microsoft Exchange System Attendant failed to start.

    For more information, click http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I cant find anything about it - anyone any ideas?

    Thanks

Hi there, I have this very problem. Did you manage to find a solution / plan of action. I have tried absolutely _everything_ I can find and think of to no avail.

Re: Disaster rocovery mode and system attendant

what was the high availability software? We are currently looking at Double-Take.
          Thank you,
