  • External IP - Simple Question But I Cant Find It!

    Hi all,

We've recently changed our ADSL and we have a new external IP,

When I navigate to our new IP in a web browser, port 443 (iphere:443),

It changes to our old IP /exchange (oldiphere/exchange)

Where is it picking this up from?

The certificate or somewhere in IIS?

    Many thanks,

    Rob

There is nothing in Exchange that does that. Exchange doesn't care about the external IP address.

If you are just going to http://ip.address (ie without anything / ) then you must have a redirect file in the root of the server.

    That should be changed.
    However you should

    a. not use a full URL, change the redirect to be just /exchange so it works internally and externally.
    b. not use an IP address, as you cannot get certificates for IP address, instead use a host name, and preferably with a commercial SSL certificate.

    Simon.

Have you changed your public IP for the DNS records with the host of your domain?

Or, do you have a firewall that is redirecting your old public IP?
