  • Digitally signing and encrypting within OWA

W2K3 Fe / BE servers, without SP1 installed. We completed installing our DOD Cert and configured SSL. Users logging in just fine, everything works, except we are not getting the digitally sign or digitally encrypt icons on the "new message" page. I've added the OWA S/MIME Control related registry settings on the BE Server, and still nothing. Also downloaded the latest S/MIME Control which should have produced these features. Nothing as of yet. If anyone has an suggestion, please let me know! Thanks in advance.

I found an article regarding to this issue, 883543,;en-us;883543

which explains why the digitally sign and encrypt buttons don't show up. The exchange server 2003 OWA clint uses a particular function call to determine whether S/MIME control is installed. We'll get SP1 installed on the FE and BE.
