  • Outlook Not Connecting to Exchange Server From Different Sub Domain

Our one-floor office has 2 departments. Each department was provided with their own sub domains.

    1st Department - first.dummy.net
    2nd Department - second.dummy.net

One of our employee who resides in second.dummy.net goes to visit the other department and uses their LAN cable to connect himself to the network. Although he could access the internet, he's unable to connect to the Exchange Server to access his Outlook emails.

I then did basic troubleshooting on his laptop such as ping (Success) and tracert (Success) to the exchange server and it comes up fine.

Could being on a different sub domain be the cause of the problem? Or is it maybe a firewall that might be blocking the connection?

I'm a bit of a loss and would really appreciate your skillful knowledge of this. Thank you in advance!

Re: Outlook Not Connecting to Exchange Server From Different Sub Domain

    Which version of Exchange?
Which domain is the Exchange server in?
Which domain is the computer in (confirm user is in second domain)?
Have you domainprepped all domains as per http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...xchg.65).aspx?
