  • Disabling bounce back msgs for non-existent users

    Hi,

Probably another straight foward one, how do i disable bounce back messages for non-existent users exchange w2k3 OS w2k3.

If it is not possible to disable bouce back messages how can i edit the notification to provide less information regarding the dns server etc and simply create my own notification message

    Thanks in advance

    You mean NDRs?

You can do so by un-checking the "Allow Non Delivery Reports" in the Advanced tab of the Internet Message Formats node in ESM.

In the Message Delivery node you can also configure Exchange to reject messages for users not in the directory, or to silently accept all messages. If you choose the first, be sure to configure the Tar Pitting option to slow down the rejection answers for these messages.
