  • ESE event ID 509

    Hi,

Recently most mornings around the same sort of time (just after the DB defrag) we get 3 or 4 of the following errors in the event log

Information Store (5416) Our Storage Group: A request to read from the file "S:\{NASserver01.0}\priv1.edb" at offset 17049133056 (0x00000003f8352000) for 4096 (0x00001000) bytes succeeded, but took an abnormally long time (129 seconds) to be serviced by the OS. In addition, 0 other I/O requests to this file have also taken an abnormally long time to be serviced since the last message regarding this problem was posted 0 seconds ago. This problem is likely due to faulty hardware. Please contact your hardware vendor for further assistance diagnosing the problem.

The hardware vendor has checked the server and HDs. Everything is okay

The last event before was 700 - Online deffrag Beginning a full pass on database, etc

    Thanks for your help

it's a on NAS, (windows storage 2003). Direct connection via 1 GB NIC.

Basically it's set up like this

Been running for years, then suddenly these errors, wondering if it's due to a recent MS update.

      Thanks for your help

i suspect either a transient network issue for a moment or two, or a physical disk issue
