  • Adding addtional Exchange servers

Currently, I have an Exchange 2003 Enterprise edition in a cluster. I want to add a Exchange 2003 standard server to our domian. I did this in a test enviorment and had no problems. Are there any issues that I need to be aware of before I do this? I am adding the addtional server for political reasons more so than techinical.

    Thanks,

Another Exchange 2000 server? There are no issues here. Make sure you replicate PFs (if needed), set the routing group master (again, if needed) and have a good backup strategy.

    Good luck.

      Re: Adding addtional Exchange servers

Sorry, but with limited Exchange knowledge I have to ask. Is there any conflict with the store sizes of Exchange 2003 Enterprise in a cluster and adding an Exchange 2003 standard server to that?

      2 2 was 1 2.

No. The cluster is one or more EVSs, where each EVS acts as an individual server. The new server is just that, a new server. Not a new node.
