  • Managing / Monitoring SMTP Queues.

    Hello

I've got a question regarding the management / monitoring of SMTP Queues..

We have a user base of approx 2,000+ users, across approx 34 countires, we have centralised infrastructure which the mail is channeled through.. the topology works something like this:-

(INTERNET) >>>>> (Frontend Gateway SERVERS running Windows SMTP for AV / Spam) >>>>> (Backend Cluster Exchange 2003) inbound, with the reverse for outbound mail.

The problem that we have is that when the mail is fed back out via the Gateway servers it's impossible to manage /monitor the outbound queues, as Windows SMTP provides no monitoring tools for Queue Folder, Badmail etc.. Is there any useful tools that can be installed onto the gateway servers to make the task of monitoring queues more effectively, ideally we'd like to avoid installing Exchange on these GW servers if at all possible..

    Any advice would be appreciated...

    Thanks
