  • Unattend file and "Known Compatibilty" warning

I am trying to test and create an Unattend .ini file for Exchange server 2003 to be installed on Server 2003 sp2.

When running the installer with the .ini file i get the usual "Know compatibility issue" error

I know this warning can be ignored but how can i supress this warning during and unattended instllation?

    thanks

what is the known compatibility between? I'v efound the following:
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/For...-048c1abcda6f/

which isn't quite related, but suggests maybe we could run the unattended before soemthing else is installed, or something like that?

    there's also this one:

which gives you some reg strings you could edit that might help - you'll just need to find the right ones

I'm pretty sure this relates to Exchange 2003 SP0 and is resolved by immediately applying a service pack. How about trying to slipstream the Exchange media?

Re: Unattend file and "Known Compatibilty" warning

        Hi
The Warning can just be ignored and your right it just implies that the latest SP should be installed

I didnt think SPs could be slipstreamed with Exchange 2003?

I will see if i can run the /qn switch

I dont really want to start Registry changes as this is for an automated build process

        thanks

Re: Unattended file and "Known Compatibility" warning

I am not aware that unattended installation is supported with Exchange 2003. You can do so with the later versions.

Re: Unattend file and "Known Compatibilty" warning

You can run the Install with an Unattend switch:

              http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc164308%28EXCHG.65%29.aspx

Unfortunatelly it just create the answer file and doesnt help with this Warning pop up

Re: Unattend file and "Known Compatibility" warning

The warning is coming from Windows, not Exchange. I am not aware of a way to suppress it.
