  • Physically Moving Exch2003 server to different AD site..

I am planning a move of our one and only Exchange 2003 server from site"A" to site "B" within AD. Both sites' subnets are setup in AD. Both sites are syncronizing AD fine. Other than updating our MX records and configuring the firewall in site "B" for SMTP traffic, is there anything else to consider for this move?

    Thanks in advance,

    1. Backup all the DC + mail server.
    2. After changing the IP/Site reboot the Exchange server (dont forget to
update the DNS servers IP on the Exchange server etc.)

If the sites are also represented in your Routing Groups config, make sure you move the servers to the right place, and make sure you leave one Routing Group Master at each RG. Usially a reboot should do the trick, but keep an eye open for strange behaviors.
