  • Moving Public Folders from one Storage Group to another on same server

    Hi,

I am running Exchange 2003 SP2, over 2 clustered servers.

I am about to restructure our Exchange system - changing the names of the Mailbox Stores (but retaining the Storage Group names) which seems straight forward enough. However, I need to move the Public Folders from one Storage Group to another one to accomodate the change I would like to do.

For instance, I have 4 storage groups (just for arguments sake, let's call them Storage Group A, B, C & D) currently the Public Folder is in Storage Group A and I want to move it to Storgare Group B on the same server.

How easy is this, and is it possible?

    Thanks for any help given.

There is no way that I am aware of that you can move the Public Folder data around like that. You can only move it between servers.
For that reason what many will do is put Public Folders in to their own storage group.

    Simon.
