  • Enabled SSL in IIS6 - Web Page Cannot Be Displayed

    Hello,

    I have enabled SSL in IIS6 Exchange 2003 this morning, now when trying to reach the webmail it returns 'the page cannot be displayed'.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

      When browsing to it locally https://exchange/exchange I get;

      "The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address."

      I can continue past this and log in.

        Do you have port 443 opened on your firewall and forwarded to the exchange server?

          Yes, 443 is open in the firewall and forwarded to my Exchange IP.

          Thanks,

            You're getting this message because you're using the wrong URL. Use the same URL that's on the certificate to access the site.

              To be picky - there is no such thing as "enabling SSL".
              You can install an SSL certificate, and you can enable require SSL, but that is all.
              If you enable require SSL on the web site then it can cause problems with the management of Exchange.
              Installing an SSL certificate does not stop you from using SSL, you don't have to "enable" or turn it on.
