  • Using AD to create new user leaves email address field blank

Just recently using AD to create new users it does not populate the email field. At first I just put this down to latency but still days on the email address field is not upated and no mailbox is created on our Exchange 2003 server.

It goes through all the motions as if it is creating the mailbox. Using the AD wizard I view the Exchange server and store where the mailbox will be created and get no errors. I have tried recreating users and forcing an update of the recipient update but still no mailbox is created.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

Check to see if there are any RUS issues in the App log in Event Viewer. Also, see if RUS is not turned off, and it is configured to "Always Run".

I had a similar issue and it was the anti virus software causing ther problem. You may want to try disabling the AV software and creating a new user account/mailbox.

Also, as suggested earlier check the logs.
