  • IIS Directory Security

I seemed to have screwed up directory security in IIS 6.0 server 2003 exchange server 2003 for OWA and active synch i.e. neither work now

Is it possible to revert it to default failsafe vaules - copy settings from another working server or what options do I have please.

Any constructive suggestions welcome - thanks

      Re: IIS Directory Security

The only surefire way if BPA doesn't flat what is wrong is going to be a rip out of Exchange and IIS, then a reinstall of IIS and Exchange (in that order for both). Otherwise you would need to have a reference machine to compare.

          A backup of what though?
The recovery might work. It is hard to say.

            Re: IIS Directory Security

            Hi

I have a backup of this complete server - and could restore it to a temporary server.

Then within IIS there seems to be an option to backup/restore configuration

I would then backup that - restore to live server.

            would that do it?

Try resetting the virtual directories to begin with.
