  • how to New create virtual directory on New IIS for OWA

I am new to exchange server. I would like to know how to create the virtual directory on New IIS for OWA.
I have separated the web server and the exchange 2003 server. I left the exchange on the old server and moved the web server to the new machine. I have no problem for internal email but I cannot access email from outside network via OWA.
I can telnet to SMTP from outside but I can not http to exchange to check email because it will go to my new web server.
How can I check email using OWA from outside.

    Thanks
    t-ra

IIRC you cannot separate OWA from Exchange like this -- the closest you can come is a front end Exchange server but that requires a second license.

As already posted, you cannot separate OWA from Exchange.
      You have two options only.

      1. A second Exchange licence and a frontend/backend scenario.
      2. Use ISA server to publish Exchange.

If you are planning to put something in a DMZ, then option 2 is your only option for a secure deployment.
