    Re: Email Scripts

    I've always used a hotmail account and sent a couple too and fro with that.

    You can script smtp sessions ( for smtp telnet) but where would you run them?

          Re: Email Scripts

          Set objEmail = CreateObject("CDO.Message")

          objEmail.From = "[email protected]"
          objEmail.To = "[email protected]"
          objEmail.Subject = "test"
          objEmail.Textbody = "relay test"
          objEmail.Configuration.Fields.Item _
          ("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/sendusing") = 2
          objEmail.Configuration.Fields.Item _
          ("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpserver") = _
          "host name or IP address of mail relay here"
          objEmail.Configuration.Fields.Item _
          ("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpserverport") = 25
          objEmail.Configuration.Fields.Update
          objEmail.Send

          This is a script i use to test outbound mail.
          Alternatively you can replace the "to" field in the script with [email protected]. This will trigger and echo response from one of Mimesweepers relays back to the originating email address.
