  • Backing up Exchange 2000 server

I am looking for some documentation on the step-by-step process of backing up a exchange server before performing any maitenance or upgrade to it?

Also, is there a way to run a second exchange server as a backup server on a network or will that cause problems? If you can, can you copy over the configurations from the main mail server?

    Environment
    OS Windows 2000
    Exchange 2000

    Thanks
    stephen

      backup software

I have veritas that is currently setup to do nightly backups of the Exchange server and the other main server. I can run manual backup at anytime. I also have the option to run the ntbackup.
