  • Rules based on recipients address

    Hi,

Does any one know a solution to this:

    Situation:
A user with multiple SMTP addresses wants to create rules to organize email based on the "sent to" email address. However, Exchange Server 2000 or Outlook 2000 is resolving those address to his primary SMTP address, so the rule does not run.

    Example:
Apply this rule after the message arrives
    sent to [email protected]
move it to the jdoe-Inbox folder

however, the "To" field of the email displays John Doe whose alias is john.doe and primary SMTP email address is [email protected]

    Question:
Is there a setting in Exchange Server 2003 and/or Outlook 2003 to disable contact resolution so that the original email address is displayed in the "To" field of the email and thus permiting the rule to run?

Any help at all would be great.

    Regards,

    Dean

When you setup the rule, simply set up the rule to use "Specific words in the recipient address" and enter the email address required.
