  • Query based distribution groups

I have set up some query based distribution groups but found that when a user selects the group in their 'To' box in Outlook they don't have the option of clicking on the + sign to expand everyone in the group like a regular distribution group allows. I don't see anywhere within the group properties to allow this. Is it possible?

    Thanks.

    No, it isn't possible.
The query isn't run until the message is sent.
If you need to know who is getting the message, then don't use QBDs. I never use QBDs.

      Re: Query based distribution groups

That's too bad. My problem with regular distribution groups is occasionally I will add a new user but forget to put them in a group. With QBDG's I was targeting certain fields on the profile that are always filled in.

So there's no other magical way huh...just quit being forgetful?

Having documented procedures is what you should be doing. New starter forms etc, rather than doing things ad-hoc.
