  • OWA Problems

Hello all. I have been reading so many posts all over the web, here including trying to find a solution to my problem.

I have been hired by this company, and when I walked in, and started to look how their network/domain was setup, the 1st thing I wanted to do was turn around and leave.

Anyways, for some odd reason, they have 1 DC, "a" and then their web site is hosted localy, which offcourse its name is "b". The setup is as follows, DC is Windows 2000 and Exchange is located in another server with Windows 2003 and Exchange 2003.

when i enter http://localhost/exchange i get unspecified error.

Also in the IIS I have the 'Default Web Site' and 'Supply Web Site'. In the 'Supply Web Site', it is pointing to where all the files are for the webpage, which makes sense.

'Default Web Site' - is set to point to c:\inetpub\wwwroot, basically its set up by default.

I really do not know what to do. I would really would like to fix this issue with OWA. I was in the microsoft web site, but its like digging information like a needle in a haystack.

If anyone knows anything, that can share some light, I would be great appreciated. thank you for your time.

    Re: OWA Problems

OWA is installed by defualt on the server running Exchange. So why are you looking for it on the DC, or didn't I understand your question?

Anyway, there are so many things that might have gone wrong that you'll need to do some research and provide us with sometihng to work upon, unless you want us to start reading minds...

      Re: OWA Problems

Hi, well lets put it simple.

The domain here is called "w2kdomain.local" do not know why. The web page is www.ce?????ply.com which is hosted localy in the servers with exchange 2003 is too.

Ok i managed to make the internal OWA working. So when I type http://localhost/exchange user name and password login pops up, fill it in and I am in. Working great.

But when I want to access via the internet, http://mail.ce?????ply.com/exchange is says the "The Page cannot be found..."

Any help on this? Maybe pointing that address to the localhost

      http://mail.ce????ply.com/exchange ---> http://localhost.exchange

what do you ppl think? thank you for your time.

        Re: OWA Problems

You IIS may be setup to use host headers so when you type www.whatever.com/exchange that is picked up by the 'supply website' and then looks for a folder called exchange. You need to try typing http://externalipaddress/exchange from outside the network and see if that works.

        hope this helps
