  • Exchange ActiveSync and Outlook Mobile Access errors occur when SSL or forms-based au

    I have this weird situation
i have windows 2000 and exchange 2003, single exchange server, and I'm trying to add SSL to exchange for Active Sync working. So as per this MS article and this site, which is the same method.

    http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;817379

i need to create a new virtual directory in order for it to work, the only thing is it is for windows 2003 (IIS6), not for windows 2000 with IIS5. (anyway to get around this?)

i found this workaround is to disable SSL requirement on the /exchange folder on the IIS in order for activesync to work, i had 3-4 users with iphone using it with no problem, here come the weird part, when i try to ipad using active sync, it crap out the OWA, mean while it trying to connect to the server, OWA doesn't work, it only say something about internal error http 503, and i have to restart the exchange server in order for the owa to work again. any suggestion or help would be great.
my last resort would be installing a front-end server.
