  • wierd exchange 2003 intelligent multi filter behavior

I just set up a new exchange 2003 server with SP2(dont have the hardware to run 2k7 yet). And I was testing messaging to and from my phone (sms text email). My phone received the messages fine. When I replied, nothing came through. I saw in the message tracking that the imf deleted the messages. I set the SCL from 8 to 9, and the messages went through. Shouldnt the messages have gone to the junk mail since my settings were junk 4 delete 8 moved to delete 9? It came straight throuigh to my inbox after changing the SCL to 9.

Am I not fully understanding how IMF works?

Re: wierd exchange 2003 intelligent multi filter behavior

when you set IMF to perform a specific action and you think it says "higher than 8" it actually means "higher than 8, including 8" so your email probably had an SCL of 8, and was auto-deleted.

    does this help ?

Switch the option to archive, then you can see the messages and their SCL value.
There are lots of IMF spam archive managers around. I have a list on my web site here: http://www.amset.info/exchange/imf.asp
