  • exchange 5.5 server recovery

    Hi People
Pse help me promptly: I have Exchange 5.5 (sp 4) installed - and works fine ! - on an Windows 2000 Server; this w2k server in one of two AD Domain Controllers. Since that Exchange works on relatively "old" hardware, I want to operate a new, 'modern" server, replacing the "old" W2S DC and thus replacing the Exchange 5.5 server, too. But I prefer to continue with the current Excahnge 5.5 server,on the new scheduled AD server. I don't want to join a new Ex 5.5 to existing Organization and site, but to "continue"
    with the current Ex configuration.

Can someone help me in suggseting the right procedures? is it mainly Exc 5.5 Server Disater Recovery case,or something else? is there any method of moving or copying a Ex 5.5 server from a DC to new DC in AD environment?

    thks ahead

thank you very much for your kind help. there are two difficulties:
        1) i don't have permission,for the time being.to purchase Exchange 2000...
        2) in the above Microsoft document, the Exchange Server is not a domain controller - which is not my case; my Ex server reside upon AD DC...
