  • Reformating Exchange Member Server due to OS problem

    Hi

I will reformat one exchange 2003 server due to OS problem. Users mailboxes are already move to other exchange server. The problem is I never do uninstalling Exchange 2003 before on production environment. My worries is if I reformat the exchange server 2003 is there any impact on the user since I already move their mailbox to other server or is there any errors will occur?

I'm thinking of uninstalling Exchange 2003 directly using Add/Remove Program.
    Is this the right approach?

    Thanks

Launch the Exchange installation CD and select the option to remove Exchange. If you don't uninstall it but simply format the server you'll leave all kinds of Exchange related information in the Active Directory database.

      Hi

When I try to remove exchange member server using Exchange 2003 Installer there is no remove button on the Exchange setup menu.

I search again and found this link.

I don't have an Exchange CD handy but when you launch the Exchange CD there's an Action drop down for each Exchange component, you can select Remove from the drop down.
