  • Changing IP address information of Exchange 2003

    i have exchange server 2003 with ip address 10.10.0.10
    with default GW 10.10.0.1
    i want to change ip address
    to 192.168.1.10
    default GW 192.168.1.1
    and i have 500 user used this exchange
    how can i do this ?

    As long as you have domain controllers available on the subnet, just change the IP address. It will take a little while for the domain to catch up with the new location. You might want to restart the server after making the change, but other than that, nothing special has to be done to change the IP address of the server.

      but
      when i change my ip address
      and restart server
      what about configuration outlook client
      and when i change ip
      client cant open and retrieve your mail
      and i have 500 user
      how i can do to this problem

        That is what I said about name resolution. Changing the IP address isn't a problem, but you need to ensure that name resolution of the server is working correctly. As long as all of the Exchange services have started correctly then there should be no reason why it shouldn't work.

          thanks to reply me
          actually nowadays all pcs on my networks workgroup ok
          and we used ip exchange server to retrieve mail box from it
          now we do update to my network ok
          later
          we do join domain
          ok
          now i want to any tools or script to do that
          when i change ip ok

            I don't understand what you are asking.
            Changing the IP address of the server, as long as DNS etc that is handed to the client machines is correct, should not require any changes on the clients.

              Don't forget to change the IP on the firewall to the new one so you can recieve mail from the outside.
