  • setting up Exchange to allow email from mail filtering server

    Hi,

I'm trying to get my exchange server 2003 to accept mail only from postini, but I'm not really sure where to start.

Sorry for the paltry amount of info, but I'm relatively new to this.

    Thank you.

It sounds like an SMTP smart host (connector). You could probably get the best help by creating a support ticket with Google Postini Support: http://www.google.com/support/appsec...n&answer=87835

These are the System Requirments: http://www.google.com/support/appsec...y?answer=91332

An SMTP Connector is for outbound email, not inbound.
For inbound restrictions you need to set it on either the firewall or on the SMTP virtual server. By default Exchange allows restrictions from everyone, you change that to specific hosts and enter the IP addresses that Postini provide.
