  • Exchange 2003 Updates - Dual Servers

    Hi All,

I'm curious what everyones practice is with updating exchange. I would think the reasonable action would be to update the secondary first then the primary in case of failure. But it also seems that you might want to update the primary first.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Do you mean a cluster?
    Or a frontend backend scenario?

If FE/BE then you do the frontend first, then the backend.
If you are in a cluster then you do the passive node, reboot, then failover and do the previously active (now passive) node.

    Simon.
