  • Users cannot log in to restored exchange 2003 mailbox store

    After restoring a previous Exchange 2003 mailbox store by using Retrospect. I was unable to get the mailbox store to mount. Using eseutil I was able to clean up the database (.edb) to the point that I could mount it. Now that it's mounted, it doesn't recognize the users when they try to log in. I tried the login both by Outlook and by Web access.

    Although I don't understand why, I feel pretty sure that their GUID's must be different, but I don't have any idea how to correct that. Any help would be appreciated.

    Have you run the Mailbox cleanup tool, after doing so you may need to map the mailbox back to the user in AD.
