  • Receive email from an outside domain

Im working on a SBS 2003 R2 Premium and I need to receive E-mails from an external domain which is not an AD domain of our local network. So, I followed Daniel Petri article Configure Specific E-Mail addresses for Specific Exchange 2000/2003 Users .
I also asked my ISP to create a MX record that points to the fixe IP of my external NIC (ISA 2004).
Here is the Recipient Policy that I added:
    SMTP @ABC.COM AD Domain
    SMTP @XYZ.CA (primary) External Domain
    X400 c=US;a=.

In the general tab off the new recipient, I created a LDAP (&(mailnickname=nroy)) that goes to my AD account nroy.

Im able to send message to my gmail account and I receive it with domain.

When I try to send an email to with my gmail, I receive this error message:

(see the attach image for the error)

Do I have to add a rule in ISA 2004 to relay email from
    Thanks for your help!

you will probably need to create an ISA rule to publish your SMTP Server.

simple way to check is when you get home tonight, from your laptop at home, try and telnet to port 25 on your public internet address.
