  • Exchange 2003 POP3 service Missing????

I have a question regarding exchange 2003 sp1 (installed on W2K3 server). I have looked everywhere on the net and all over the site but I can't find the answer. I know that the pop3 service is not started automatically after install but why would I be missing the service altogether? It is not in my services so I can not start it. I see the virtual server in exchange and when I try to start that it says "overlapped I/O operation is in progress" . Is there a way to install the POP3 service? Everything else is working just fine (OWA and internal clients) I hope I do not have to reinstall exchange so 3 external clients can have pop3 access? Any help would be great-

From the command prompt run netstat -na|find "110&quot

From the command prompt run netstat -na|find "110"|find "LISTENING"

If you see something similar to:
      TCP 0.0.0.0:110 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING
You have some pop3 server already running...

          try downloading essential net tools
          http://www.tamos.com/products/nettools/

It's a utility that will help you figure out which ports are being used and by which prog.

          See if it helps.
