  • Same Message Sent Repeatedly

    A user has received a message with read receipt and deleted about 3 months ago. But the "Not read" message goes out to the sender twice a day until now. I have searched the original message but it is no longer found. How can this behave be stopped?

    Have you restarted the server? Try restarting the smtp service on the exchange server initially and see if that resolves your problem.
    If that fails create an additional smtp virtual server (configure it with the same properties of the default) pause the default one and see if that helps.

      It sounds to me that The read reciept is stuck in the user's mailbox, but it's not visible.

      It can be done for Exchange mailboxes too.

        If old messages are getting delivered to the user daily then it means the old messaged would be still be available in smtp temp table which might be causing the issue
