We just did an office wide deployment of outlook 2007 with exchange 2003. We have 110 users. Not many at all.

The deployment went well but wholly COW our exchange server is getting hammered. I am trying to find out why since my upgrade the server is hammered.

its a dual processer xeon with 3gb of memory. sp2 and exc sp2 standard edition.

Do I need to disable stuff? plug-ins services?

    any pointers would be grateful

What exactly do you mean by hammered?
Any specific thread running high CPU or errors in the event log? Disk related issues?, Memory?.
Have you looked at the performance monitor?

my CPU get maxed out pegged at 100% it happens quite often drops to 75 but then shoot back up to between 95 and 100%

Users experience hang ups and freezes in outlook.

And what processes are doing the hammering?
        What is network utilisation?
        Drive usage?
        Memory usage?

Oops -- Octagon already asked that
