  • Importing .EML files into new 2003 exchange server

    Hi,

Over the weekend we had a serious problem with exchange spewing its brains out. A new server was built and all is in order apart from the fact we have several thousand .eml files in the queues folder on the broken server. These files have now been copied to the new server but I have no idea how they can be processed.

    Has anyone any idea?

    Kind regards,

    Alan

Here's what you can do: Set up a temporary SMTP server in IIS on another computer. Configure this IIS SMTP server to use the Exchange server as a smart host. Configure the Exchange server to allow the IIS server to relay through it. Drop the messages in the inetpub\mailroot\pickup directory on the IIS server. This should cause the IIS server to deliver the emails to the Exchange server, which should then deliver them to the intended recipients.

      Hi,
10 minutes to configure, seconds to deliver. Joe you are a star. I am really grateful.
