  • Email - where's it gone????

    Hi,
We have an exchange 2003 box. Sending mail internally is fine, sending mail to an external recipient is also OK, our problem happens when sending an email to an internal and exernal recipient. If you look in the message tracker the meessage is routed and queued for remote delivery and is then passed onto the mail gateway (a sonicwall emailsecurity appliance), there is no mention of the message being delivered locally.
The exchange server is authoritative for the address (which is also the primary address)
Not sure where to look now, can anyone help...please

    Thanks

Missing emails are generally down to things like Anti-Spam or Anti-Virus software. Do you have anything like that running?
    cheers

Your SonicWall should have logs that may help track the emails. I would have thought that the ant-spam element of it would also help you set rules. You may need to adjust some rules to forward to a spam mailbox, so you can check them. Again, look at the SomicWall and see what rules exist. If you have registered support with SonicWall, their techincal help is also good. You can also get specific product support through mysonicwall. That is the logon you register when activating the SonicWall.

If it is to an internal recipient then it probably hasn't made it to the sonic wall I would guess?
        cheers
