  • Restricted group

I have an Exchange server 2003 Standard Edition. In SMTP connector in genral tab click on "forwarede mail to xyz.com domain". There is a SMPT connector and I have added the restricted users’ group into the “Restrict Messages From” under “Delivery Restrictions” tab. New requirement states allow all users sending emails to a specific internet mail domain which we have acquired recently, including restricted users. How do I keeps the restriction for the “restricted group” and allow sending emails to this new domain.

    Re: Restricted group

You have to create an additional SMTP connector. The new one is for just the domain that you wish to allow emails to go to with a cost of 1. The existing connector with the restriction on it has its cost changed to 2.

        Re: Restricted group

You can have multiple domains on the connector - there is no need to have a single connector per domain.

              Re: Restricted group

It may be possible to setup 2 smtp connectors. The first allows all users to email the domains you want this user to be able to send to. The second then allows all users, aside from this one user, to email everyone. It would just send errors every time this user wanted to send to non-allowed addresses. Not very neat though.

Exchange 2007 gives you much more flexible transport rules.
              cheers
