  • OOO Message still sending

    At the top of my ESM tree, under Internet Message Formats, for the * domain (default rule) I have ensured there is no check in "Allow out of Office Responses"

    yet I can see out of office messages are still going out..


    Now.. this is still a dual-system implementation, IE, we are still using POP3 to receive email as part of a cut-over strategy.. so they could be going out that way.. however they still go through the same SMTP server.

    Any ideas on where I'm going wrong?

    Do you mean they're going out internally or externally? This setting only controls OOO messages externally.

        Uncheck the "allow out of office responses" check box on the Advanced tab of the properties of the default domain in the Internet Message Formats of the Global Settings.

            How are you seeing the messages going out? Are you sure they are actually going out to the internet? I am pretty sure that they are generated whatever happens, then the Exchange server drops them.

              Wait.. no.. on closer inspection, I am in fact, an idiot.

              I was seeing SMTP: message queued, DElivered locally to store [email protected]

              But not 'message transferred to ESTMP through smtp'

              however, I do also see:

              SMPT: Message queued, Delivered locally to store [email protected]
