  • The connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server is Unavailable.

I add a second Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise SP2 to my already existing Exchange server 2003 Ent. SP2 (on the same domain). They are running side by side (no front or end servers). I did add a second server because I was running out of space on the first one. I did move most of the mailboxes to the seond server and all works great until this week that I am creating new accounts using the active directory users and computers snap-in from the new exchange server. Problems is as follows:
    1. When I try to run oulook 2003 on the client conputer I get the error message: "The connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable. Outlook must be online and connected to coplete this action".
If I logon to the same client machine with a username that already exist I have no problem. Only when creating new accounts.

    2. If I change the exchange server name to the "old" server name (while setting the outlook account) the settings will go through.

    Solution anybody?

    Thank you very much

Have you run the Exchange best practises tool against the environment to ensure that it doesn't flag anything? Are the user accounts getting email addresses automatically?
