  • MSExchangeTransport Errors

    Hello,
I setup Exchange Server 2003 SP2 working perfectly. Recently i installed ExchangeIMF.MSI to see if the IMF is working and Im not sure how to verify if IMF is working. However, after upgraded SP2 I don't see " Intelligence Message Filtering" under SMTP/Default SMTP virtual server. I then decide installing ExchangeIMF.msi separately from SP2 package. After I installed ExchangeIMF.msi I then see the Intelligence Message Filtering appear underneath SMTP/Default SMTP virtual server. After performed mentioned task i'm getting below errors at my event viewer which I'm not sure if this is good or bad. It seems that the errors is reporting the spam email. Please advise if i can just ignore this. I'm giving two for example.

    1.
This is an SMTP protocol log for virtual server ID 1, connection #7. The client at "211.104.21.134" sent a "mail" command, and the SMTP server responded with "503 5.5.2 Sender already specified ". The full command sent was "mail FROM: <[email protected]>". This will probably cause the connection to fail.

    2.
This is an SMTP protocol log for virtual server ID 1, connection #8. The client at "189.87.123.106" sent a "mail" command, and the SMTP server responded with "503 5.5.2 Sender already specified ". The full command sent was "mail FROM: <[email protected]>". This will probably cause the connection to fail.

    Thank you!

    Re: MSExchangeTransport Errors

You don't install IMF separately with Exchange 2003 SP2, it is already built in. You will need to remove it, then reinstall Exchange 2003 SP2 to correct the issue.

Whether that is the cause or not I do not know, but you have an invalid configuration which needs to be fixed.
