  • OWA to second exchange server

    Hi all,
I have just added a second exchange server 2003 to a current network that already has exchange 2003 running on it. The problem is that no one can use owa that has a mailbox on the new server. Mailboxes on the original server work fine and so does connecting with outlook to the new server.
After typing in the username and password via owa it displays a "page not found" error. Strange is though if connecting directly to the new exchange box via it internal ip it does display the mailbox, even though it takes a little while.

    Any ideas?

Is it two exchange organisations? Is it a seperate domain?

So you have two exchange servers in your single organisation? Do they both appear in one Exchange manager?

Can you explain this bit further:

"Strange is though if connecting directly to the new exchange box via it internal ip it does display the mailbox, even though it takes a little while."

            Thanks

              Certainly..

When I am connected to the console and type in, say 192.168.1.1/exchange, with this being the ip address of the second exchange server it does eventually connect to owa after typring in the username and password. But when trying to connect from an external source it asks for the username and password and then it displays the "file not found". It connects to owa is the mailbox is on the first server.... hope this makes sense?

I think so. Would i be right in saying that internally on your network - it works - if a little slow. But trying from the internet it doesn't?

Is it on the DMZ of your network or internal?

EDIT: Is there any ebtries in the event log of note (particulary security)
