Some users in Global Dist Grp don't recieve emails

  • Some users in Global Dist Grp don't recieve emails

    Hello !
    We use Exchange2003 in our company.

    We have one major Global Distribution Group (HQ-ALL) which members are 2 major Security groups (regular and outsource).
    Those 2 security groups also have several global security groups as members (Mng, Office...//Mng-OS,Dev-OS...).
    The latest security groups members are regular users.

    1. HQ - ALL (grp)
    2. Regular // Outsource (grp)
    3. Mng / Office / Dev / QA ... // Mng-OS / Dev-OS / QA-OS ... (grp)
    4. Members (regular AD users) of the 3rd section. (usr)

    When I send emails to HQ-ALL not everyone gets it for some reason.
    I've double checked it and the setup seems fine.

    What could be the problem ?

    (The emails I send to HQ-ALL are internal thus inside the office and don't leave our network).

    Is this a new setup?
    Has anything changed?
    Also, are some of the intended recipients who don't receive the email just a member of the security group that has been added to the distribution group? Are the security groups 'mail enabled'?
    Are you windows 2003 native for AD?

      Thanks for your guiding.
      I've managed to solve this by myself after clicking on a few groups for "Exchange Tasks" and establishing a new email addresses. (Mail Enabled)
      Apparently there where some groups without emails and I was wrong to assume that if the users themselves have emails they will receive it regardless of their group.

      Why is this forum so Microsoft oriented with just a few Cisco sections ... why not leave some sections for other OS's like Linux, BSD and Mac ?
      (Just a thought, don't start wars here ).

        Glad you got it sorted. You could scrap the 'distribution group' and just use 'mail enabled' security groups from now on.
