  • can't restrict users

I'm trying to restrict a couple of users from sending out email from their accounts. I've followed the steps exactly on how to do this.
I've created another smtp connector associated it with the smtp virtual server. Created a mail enabled group added the users. I've also edited the registry in the appropriate place with CheckConnectorRestrictions and set the dword value to 1. Then restarted the appropriate services. But it still does not restrict the users from sending out. What else can I try?

Under delivery options on that SMTP connector have you set it to "never run"? Under the delivery restrictions tab have you added the neccesary users/group?

I have added the users I want to restrict. I have it set to "always run". Am I supposed to have it set to "never run".

It needs to be set to "never run" if you dont want those users to send email.

The most common reason for this failing is that there is another way for the traffic to go out.

This is my guide to the setup:
