  • Schedule for outgoing emails

    Dear Experts,

What we have here is the SBS 2003 server. From time to time we send our company's newsletters to our clients. We were advised by our ISP that we should not send more than a certain amount of email messages per specific period of time. Our company is small and we do not send so many email messages anyway so that it should be ok to make a permanent change in Exchange configuration.
I think that it could be done through modifying of default SMTP Virtual Server:
set the "Limit number of connections to" and "Time-out(minutes)".

Could you please help me and advise if it is the correct way to do this ?

    thank you !

    Mihail

    Re: Schedule for outgoing emails

The best thing you could do is outsource it completely.

Exchange is a very poor bulk email tool. While you can make those restrictions I think it will actually NDR the messages rather than delay their sending.

A bulk email tool, or outsourcing, would be the best idea. Use something designed for the job.

    Simon.
