  • Public Folders

I am running Ex2003 (std) and have created another folder in Sys manager , i have created a corresponding folder store and connected them, i have also created an extra virtual http server. after mounting the store everything looks okay in the sys manager, however i would expect the new public folder to appear in my Outlook client after the std "Public Folder". It doesn't, am i missing something obvious or do i have a completely wrong perception of public folders.

(my objective is to create Public folders at a higher level than is made via outlook)

ps In sys manager under folders, the "Public Folder" is a blue tray with orange files in it where as the new Public folder has an orange tray with blue files

Outlook can only display the default MAPI public folder tree. To access the new PF tree you need to use either HTTP or NNTP, or, through the M drive (if you choose to restore it):
