  • reinstalling exchange

    greetings!

    presently, exchange is installed on my dc
    i want to uninstall my exchange and install it to a new member server

    there are no emails yet though. will i encounter errors on my dc after uninstalling my exchange?

    Moving Exchange from a DC may cause issues. I would say the best way, if it is possible and others I am sure will advsie, would be to add the member server as another Exchange server and then transfer Exchange RUS, Public Folders and so on to there.

    Personally, I feel it is a risky business. When Exchange is installed on a DC it tends to point everything at that DC.

      As long as you remove Exchange completely from the DC then it shouldn't be a problem.
      If you have nothing at all in Exchange and want to start fresh, then go through the complete removal process: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/273478

        thanks to all.

        done.. uninstalling my exchange... it is now installed to a new member server. i have a another issue thought its on another thread
