  • Help - Direct Push Sync breaks daily

I'm trying to setup MS direct push email via active sync using certificates. I have bought GoDaddy certificates (multi-named) for this purpose. I only have one server for exchange so there is another virtual directory setup for OMA for standard authentication. I'm trying to setup sync with HTC diamond and Touch dual devices. It works fine without any issues. however, the sync breaks every morning. To get it working again I have to delete teh server source and re-add it again. It is fine with me, however, other users are finding it quite annoying. I'm trying to get 15 x HTC devices working. I'd really appreciate any help in this matter.

You shouldn't need to reconfigure ActiveSync each morning. I am not even sure what would cause that. What symptoms are you seeing that cause you to do that?

upgrading the rom fixed this issue for a while and now the sync only breaks if the mobile has been re-booted. is this normal? however, on some of the devices sync breaks randomly.

I have been using DirectPush since its release - so that is over three years and never seen a single problem with it. If you are seeing the same problem with the devices that requires a reconfiguration then I would be looking at what is being installed on the devices apart from the stock build that could be causing them to reboot.
When the devices are rebooted is it only ActiveSync that is lost, or is it everything? If it is everything then it sounds like a hard reset is being done.
