  • Forms Based Auth- Not Authentication

    Server 2003 Standard w/Exchange

We have OWA working fine (thanks to many of the fine articles from Daniel!). We installed the logon script to eliminate the domian/username logon from the main OWA webpage. Everyone can login and access mail.

Forms-Based authorization and SSL are enabled to eliminate the user/password Popup.

This all works fine, the problem is when we turn off forms-based auth and allow the popup we cannot login to the server. It doesn't seem to matter what domain variation or password variation is used.

This became apparent when we tried to integate OWA to Outlook and could not get a logon to authenticate.

The question is- What difference is there in forms-based authorization versus standard authorization in OWA?

We are looking for an area to troubleshoot.
