  • Relay setting

    Hi all,

I am new in this forum and have some questions about exchange server 2000.

When i using outlook 2000 to access my office mail server using internet e-mail setting, i can check my email but cannot send out mail (send to same domain is ok, if i send mail to hotmail etc is not work) I know that is the relay restriction problem. i know I can add my home ip to the list to allow relay, but if i am go for travel stay at hotel, i cannot do that.

on my server smtp protocol - Default SMTP Virtual Server - relay restriction, i saw a check box "allow all computer which successfully authenticate to relay" my question is how to setup a computer or user can authenticate by the mail server ?

hope you guys understand my question.

    thank all

Tick the box allow all users which successfully authenticate to relay.

    Untick "Anonymous Access" - IMPORTANT.

Setup basic authentication with your domain, then configure outlook with SMTP authentication.
